Important info - Please read the entire email - Swimmers do not want to be left out of these three exciting, end-of-season meets!

It’s time to declare intent to swim for Divisionals (July 7-8), Championships (July 15) and Classics (July 16). All three events are linked on the FW Swimtopia Home Page CLICK HERE.

***Deadline is Wednesday June 21st at Noon***

All three meets are open in Swimtopia and need to be updated for each swimmer.

Divisionals: This is the season finale for all swimmers. All teams in our division will compete. Our team's points will determine our division for next year

Championships: only qualified & available swimmers who are ranked 17 to 40 in all of SAIL will be invited to attend

Classics: only qualified & available swimmers who ranked in the top 16 in all of SAIL will be invited to attend

Note: Swimmers MUST attend Divisionals to qualify for C&C. If your swimmer(s) is not attending Divisionals, please mark all three events as “Not Attending/ Available”.

PARENTS:

  • All three events are linked on the FW Swimtopia Home Page CLICK HERE
  • -OR- go to the Sign Up Calendar in Swimtopia
    • Select "MEET ENTRY" for Divisionals, Championships AND Classics
    • This is the same process for regular meets
  • Mark whether your swimmers are attending / available or not
  • Events will not be selected by parents. Coaches will determine events for Divisionals as well as events based on qualifications for C&C.
  • Don't forget to select Divisional volunteer jobs as well.

  • Few important notes:

    1. There are hefty scratch fees if swimmers are a no show to C&C. Do NOT mark your swimmer(s) as available unless they are truly available to swim. Parents will be responsible for paying the scratch fees if their swimmer(s) are a no-show. Most importantly a no-show takes away another child's chance to swim in C&C. This impacts not only FW swimmers but all of SAIL. We need to avoid this if at all possible and only no-show/ scratch for emergencies.

    2. Parents must physically sign off on their swimmer(s) availability. Hope Davis and Maffy DeJong will be at the volunteer sign-in table at this Thursday’s Thornblade meet to confirm all swimmer declarations. Please stop by the table to initial the list of available/ not available swimmers. If you can't make it to the sign-in table, please try to find Hope or Maffy at the meet.

    3. Parents can check their swimmer’s SAIL ranking by checking the Greenville Journal online at

    https://greenvillejournal.com/2023-swim-associatio...

Note: If your child is swimming in Divisionals but is unavailable for C&C, you can compare their divisional times to the C&C qualifiers to see if they would have made it to C&C.

    4. The C&C meets are FINAL when Swimtopia closes on June 21.

    5. Fees for C&C No Show/Scratch: A swimmer who is marked available to swim and scratches before Wednesday 7/12/23 will be fined $50 per event. If a swimmer scratches after 10am on Wednesday 7/12/23, the fines will go up to $75 for individual events and $100 for relays. Please help us to avoid these fees by declaring your swimmers appropriately!

    6. Divisionals is a 2 day meet based on age group. Swimmers 11 & Up are the evening of Friday July 7th. Swimmers 10 & Under are the morning of Saturday July 8th. Divisionals will be hosted at Thornblade this year. For Divisionals, every swimmer who is attending will swim individual events, but only the A relay will swim relays.

    7. C&C is held at Westside Aquatics. Top 16 swimmers go to Classics and 17-40 swimmers go to Championships. Some swimmers may qualify for both meets but different events. Note: Qualifying times are based on Divisionals and is SAIL wide (all swim teams). Championships are July 15th (morning for 10&U and afternoon for 11&U). Classics are July 16th (afternoon for all ages).

If you have additional questions, please reach out to Hope Davis at 864-420-0911.
